Blowpipes: Put Your Enemies to Sleep!
GAME UPDATE
Shhh... A new secondary weapon has arrived: the Blowpipe! It shoots Sleep Darts that don't hit very hard, but they leave your targets drowsy: slower, with a shorter sight, and Tamons can't cast their spells anymore. Even better: wild babies fall asleep!
How to Get a Blowpipe
At Age 4, choose the Stone Blowpipe as your secondary weapon, next to the Stone Wrench, the Stone Shield and the Stone Bow. Then upgrade it as you level up:
| Blowpipe | Age | In the game |
![]() Stone |
4 | "Sleeping darts, tamons get drowsy and babies fall asleep." |
![]() Golden |
10 | "Faster darts." |
![]() Ruby |
14 | "Reloads faster, deeper sleep." |
![]() Amethyst |
18 | "Sharper darts." |
![]() Sapphire |
21 | "Sweet dreams." |
|
24 | "Aesthetic only." Pick your favorite color! |
The Stats
| Blowpipe | Damage / Time per shot | Cost per dart |
| Stone | 4 / 1.55s | 4 food + 8 wood |
| Golden | 5 / 1.55s | 5 food + 10 wood |
| Ruby | 6 / 1.45s | 6 food + 12 wood |
| Amethyst | 7 / 1.45s | 7 food + 14 wood |
| Sapphire and above | 8 / 1.35s | 8 food + 16 wood |
Each upgrade also makes the darts fly faster. The Sleep Darts get stronger too: Level I with the Stone and Golden Blowpipes, Level II with the Ruby and Amethyst ones, and Level III from the Sapphire Blowpipe.
The Sleep Dart
Every dart that hits leaves its target drowsy for about 3 seconds, and one more dart simply starts the effect again.
| Sleep Darts | Slow | Sight |
| Level I | -5% | -5% |
| Level II | -10% | -10% |
| Level III | -15% | -20% |
No More Spells
A Tamon hit by a dart can't cast its spell: if it tries, the spell fizzles and its cooldown is still used. One dart every 1.35 to 1.55 seconds is enough to keep a dangerous enemy pet silent!
Shorter Sight
A Tamer hit by a dart sees less far around them. A Tamon loses most of its hunting range: a wild animal chasing you gives up much sooner.
Who Can Be Hit?
Players, enemy pets, wild animals and even bosses. Your teammates and their pets are safe.
A shield facing the dart blocks it, and so does the protection of a Tamer who just spawned.
A Normal cape reduces the slow and the sight loss by 80%.
Babies Fall Asleep
Here is the secret power of the Blowpipe: one dart puts a wild baby to sleep almost instantly, and a sleeping baby can be tamed right away. Normally, a wild baby only takes a nap when nobody is around... no more waiting!
- The baby sleeps for about 6, 9 or 12 seconds, depending on the level of your Sleep Darts.
- More darts keep it asleep.
- Darts never wake up a sleeping animal and don't hurt it. The other weapons wake it up!
- Your pets don't attack a sleeping baby.
- Darts don't change your chance of taming.
- Adults and bosses don't fall asleep, but they still get the other effects.
- A tamed baby never falls asleep from a dart.
Taming Combos
- After defeating a boss, put its babies to sleep and tame them before they run away.
- When your clan spawns an Untamed Mask at the Totem, a dart puts it back to sleep if it wakes up before you try.
Blowpipe or Bow?
| Blowpipe | Bow | |
| Damage | 4 to 8 | 15 to 32 |
| Time per shot | 1.55s to 1.35s | 1.3s to 1.1s |
| Shot delay | 0.15s | 0.3s |
| Cost per shot | Food and wood | Wood |
| Special | Sleep Darts | Crossbow, musket and minigun upgrades |
The Blowpipe is a utility weapon: it won't win a duel by itself, but it locks the spells of enemy pets, slows down runners, stops chases and makes taming much easier. Choosing it at Age 4 means no bow, crossbow, musket or minigun for the rest of the game: pick your style!
And listen closely: the Blowpipe has its own sounds, from the blow to the whoosh of the dart and the little sleepy sound when the dart lands.
